Shanghai Key Laboratory of Molecular Medicine Mycology Successfully Held the Inaugural Conference and Working Conference of the First Academic Committee

The first academic committee inaugural and work conference of Shanghai Key Laboratory of Molecular Medicine Mycology was successfully held on December 3, 2011, in the seventh floor conference room of the new outpatient building, in Shanghai Changzheng Hospital. The conference was co-chaired by academician Liao Wanqing , the Director of Dermatology and Mycosis, and academician Chen Hongduo, the Director of Key Laboratory of Immunological Dermatology of Ministry of Health affiliated to China Medical University. Mr. Song Mingyi (Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission), Mr. Zheng Xingdong(President of Changzheng Hospital), Mr. ZHAO Xing-min (Vice President of Changzheng Hospital), Mr. Zhang Dingyong(Director of Medical Education Department), and Mr. Xu Zheng (Director of the Research Section), attended the meeting. Academician ZHAO Guoying(Director of the National South Center for Human Genome Research), Prof. Zhai Ming(First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University, Prof. Qi Zhongtian(Department of Microbiology affiliated to Second Military Medical University), Prof. Zheng Jie(Ruijin Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Prof. Yao Zhirong(Xinhua Hospital), and all the staff of Changzheng Hospital participated in the meeting.

The main agenda of the meeting is divided into five aspects: 1, On behalf of Shanghai Changzheng Hospital, Vice President Zhao Zhengmin gave a leadership speech; 2, Song Mingyi ,Deputy Director of Infrastructure in Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, made an important speech and proposed three expectations as "high" "excellent" "deep" ; 3, Academician Liao Wanqing reported the construction of Shanghai Key Laboratory of Molecular Medicine Mycology, which was established in May, 2010, in accordance with the " building, researching, opening" principle, and the initial completion of the fungal bank, the establishment of the laboratory website, the first two discovery of two fungal pathogens causing onychomycosis and cryptococcus neoforman. Academician Liao also reported the epidemiology work of cryptococcal in different climatic conditions in China, the application of relevant research program, and the procurement of important instruments in the laboratory. Laboratory expansion and transformation work will soon be carried out and the layout of the laboratory design had completed; 4. AcademicianChen Hongduo and experts fully affirmed the work of the laboratory, especially for the establishment of fungus library, hoping the laboratory continue to strengthen the platform, personnel echelon building, focusing on management innovation, focusing on results transformation, aiming for the first class laboratory in Shanghai and world. 5, Zhengxing Dong, president of our hospital made a concluding statement, said the hospital must support the work of academician Liao, and hospital should focus on the research of fungal disease as main direction.

The meeting time is compact with warm atmosphere. It not only clear the direction of the laboratory's future development, but also been strongly supported by leadership at all levels. Through hard work, our laboratory will surely gain international influence in the near future.
