Approved by the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commissionin May 2010, relying on Shanghai Changzheng Hospital,Shanghai Key Laboratory of Molecular Medicine Mycology passed the acceptance check of the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commissionin December 2011. The current director of our labisLiao Wanqing, the academican of Chinese Academy of Engineering, the current academic director is Chen Hongduo, the academician ofChinese Academy of Engineering.

Our lab has a solid foundation in the field of basic and clinical fields of medical mycology. For more than 40 years, Academician Liao Wanqing's academic team has carried out a series of studies on medical fungal and mycosis, and created the first cryptococcus specialized laboratory in China. Our lab has made a systematic and in-depth studyin areas such asthe taxonomy, evolution and toxicity of cryptococcusneoformans and clinical treatment, some of the research results up to international advanced level. At present, the main research direction of our lab is the interaction of important pathogenic between fungi and host, early molecular diagnosis of mycosis, evolution of pathogenic fungi and preservation of genetic resources of fungi. Our lab is fully capable of researching in fungal culture, cell culture, clinical sample collection and molecular biology based on the experiment platform and technology such as gene gun, real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR and other instruments. At present, our lab has undertaken 15 projects, including: 2 projects of 973 sub-topics,1 major project of National Science and Technology, 2 projects of the military, 1consulting project of Academy of Engineering, 11 projects of National Natural Science Fund and 9 projects of Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission.The total funds exceed more than 40,000,000 yuan.

At present, there are 1 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 3 doctoral supervisors, 3 master tutors and 22 fixed researchers, including young academic backbonefromfamous fungal research institutionssuch as CBS Fungi Diversity Research Center from the Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences, Duke University, University of Los Angeles, University of California Davis, University of Michigan. Based on complementary disciplines, activeresearch ideas, our lab has basically formed an international-level young research backbone as the main academic team. At present, there are 3 post-docs, 5 doctoral graduates and 12 graduate students. All the staff here adhering to the conceptof "exploration, dedication, tolerance, progressive" "for the ideal, forever in faith, for the career, persistent and dauntless ". Relying on the clinical and scientific advantages of Shanghai Changzheng Hospital and close cooperation with domestic and foreign scientific research institutions, through the guideline of  "Openness, mobility, union, competition", we will continue to contribute to the development of medical mycology and mycosis in China.
